Somerset County Librarians Ratify New Contract

Librarians and OPEIU Local 32 members at Somerset County Library Commission have voted unanimously to ratify a new three-year contract retroactive to January of 2023. The new agreement includes guaranteed minimum raises of 3% in each of the first two years, and 2.75% in the third year. In addition, the Commission’s merit-based raise policy was improved with substantial increases in percentage raises for all levels of merit. The agreement also includes an additional paid Holiday and improvements to the Commission’s employee location transfer policy. The members and the Library Commission have also agreed to continue negotiating over an increase to the minimum pay rate for all new hires with a deadline of December 31, 2023. The Memorandum of Understanding will remain here until the final contract is completed and posted on our website.

Congratulations to OPEIU Local 32 members at the Somerset County Libraries and the Bargaining Committee of Allison Ryan, Katie Salerno, and alternate Errol Logan!
